Villages
& Nature
Tuk Tuk Tour
Step beyond the city walls, into green fields, mud-walled hamlets, ancient step wells, and the unhurried rhythm of rural Rajasthan.

Rural Rajasthan, One Road at a Time
Most visitors never leave the lanes of the old city — but some of the most extraordinary moments in Udaipur lie just beyond it. This one-day Villages & Nature tour takes you deep into the Aravalli countryside: past emerald terraced fields, through mud-brick hamlets where potters and weavers still practise centuries-old crafts, and up to hilltop viewpoints where the whole basin of Udaipur shimmers below.
Your driver-guide — a local born in these very villages — opens doors that no guidebook can. Expect chai in a farmer's courtyard, conversations with schoolchildren, and the kind of quiet wonder that only rural India delivers.

Your Villages & Nature Itinerary
Hotel Pickup & Morning Chai
An early start to catch the golden morning light. Your driver-guide meets you with a thermos of masala chai and a handmade map of the day's route — the adventure begins on an empty road.
Shilpgram Craft Village
Visit this living museum of rural arts — potters throwing clay on ancient wheels, weavers coaxing intricate patterns from handlooms, and folk musicians who'll play if you ask nicely. A UNESCO-recognised celebration of Rajasthani craftsmanship.
Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary
Wind up into the Aravalli hills to Sajjangarh Biological Park — spot deer, wild boar, leopard signs and over 100 bird species in the native teak and bamboo forest. Your guide knows which trails give the best sightings.
Monsoon Palace Viewpoint
Climb to the Sajjangarh hilltop palace for the most sweeping panorama in Udaipur — the entire lake basin, the old city, and the Aravallis stretching to the horizon. Bring your camera; the light is extraordinary at this hour.
Badi Village & Local Farm
Down into the valley to the village of Badi — a cluster of whitewashed homes with blue-painted doorways and open courtyards where women grind spices by hand. Your guide introduces you to a farming family; taste fresh bajra roti straight off the tawa.
Village Dal-Baati Lunch
A wood-fire meal prepared by a local family — dal baati churma, the iconic Rajasthani feast. Eaten cross-legged in the courtyard with the smell of ghee and smoke. This is the lunch most visitors to Udaipur never experience.
Badi Lake & Aravalli Walk
Stroll the serene, tourist-free banks of Badi Lake — a 17th-century reservoir framed by forested hills. Your guide leads a short nature trail spotting painted storks, kingfishers, and if you're lucky, a crocodile basking on the far bank.
Hidden Baori — Ancient Step Well
Down a narrow lane known only to locals lies a moss-covered step well with concentric geometric galleries descending into the cool earth. One of the most photogenic and least-visited spots near Udaipur.
Evening Village Walk & Return
A final stroll through a village at dusk — cattle returning from the fields, the smell of evening cooking fires, children heading home from school. Your driver drops you back at your hotel as the sky turns amber.
